The National Unity Government (NUG) 

  • After many cases of group quarrels by Myanmar nationals in Thailand, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs-NUG released a statement on Wednesday, calling on Myanmar nationals to follow the local rules and regulations of Thailand. 
  • In Yay Township of Mon State, 2 soldiers from the junta’s Ka-La-Ya (299) based in Koemine Village and a soldier from Sa-Ka-Ka refresher training defected to Yay Guerrilla Force (8001). 
  • According to the Labour Department-NUG, there were 95 cases reported to their Complaint Mechanism and they were able to resolve 78 cases effectively. 
  • In Ye-U of Sagaing Region, there was an attack at the junta’s Shwe Kyi Min Gate on the way out of town. Shwebo District Force (24) stated that 13 junta soldiers including a captain in charge died. 

Revolution Activities 

  • At the International Court of Justice, Andrew Loewenstein, a lawyer from Gambia, stated that area clearance operations against Rohingya people in Rakhine State had been planned actions. 
  • According to international media outlets, Gambia presented to the ICJ that the structure and the command system of Myanmar military, which had committed genocide against Rohingya people in Rakhine State, had not been under the rule of the civilian government. 
  • Senator Dean Smith, Shadow Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia, stated that he would meet with Myanmar groups, including representatives of the NUG, during his trip to Malaysia and Thailand. 
  • The U.S. lawmakers submitted to Congress bipartisan legislation to redesignate Myanmar for Temporary Protected Status (TPS). 
  • Chin Human Rights Organization filed an application for indictment in Timor-Leste over war crimes committed by the Myanmar military junta
  • In Lemyetnar Township of Ayeyarwady Region, Maung Phyu Phwe (alias) Maung Zwe Thura, secretary of Myanmar CDM Police Channel, lost his life in a local battle between the Arakan Army + the PDF and the junta army. Regarding it, the MPCC sent a statement of condolences. 
  • According to Women for Justice, the women in Chin and Sagaing has had to face physical and mental suffering. 
  • In the west of Kyunghla Township in Sagaing Region, the junta army conducted five aerial bombings via fighter jets on local villages without any battles. 
  • In Ye-U of Sagaing Region, there was an attack via heavy artillery and drones on the junta army at Kyar Phoo Roundabout during the election in town. Reportedly, 13 junta soldiers including a strategic officer died. 

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs) 

The Military Commission 

  • The Foreign Ministry of Bangladesh summoned Myanmar Ambassador and expressed deep concern at the recent instance of gunfire from Myanmar towards Bangladesh. Reportedly, a 12-year-old Bangladeshi girl was injured by a stray bullet in the incident. Bangladesh asked Myanmar to take full responsibility and requisite measures to stop such cross-border firing. 
  • Daw Thet Thet Khine, Chair of People’s Pioneer Party, was detained by the military junta at her house on Tuesday evening. 
  • On Tuesday, the junta’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Gambia’s accusation against Myanmar over genocide against Rohingya people was baseless and had weaknesses. 
  • At the opening ceremony of Youth Peace Forum in Naypyidaw, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing claimed that the elections held on December 28 and January 11 had been free, fair and accepted by everyone and thus, the country was firmly on the path of multi-party democracy. 
  • The junta leader said that armed conflicts continue to escalate in the country and as a result, peace processes are unable to move forward and face numerous obstacles. 
  • The junta’s Union Minister U Ko Ko Hlaing said that the delegation would try to the best of their abilities to defend the nation and the public at the ICJ. 
  • Directorate of Investment and Company Administration stated that foreign investment worth nearly 334 million USD had entered Myanmar for the period of nine months in 2025-2026 fiscal year. 
  • The junta’s Myanmar Press Council stated that they stand with the Myanmar delegation in the trial at the ICJ. 
  • On Tuesday afternoon, the Head of the Department of International Military Cooperation and Assistant to the Minister of Defence of Belarus Maj-Gen Valerity Aleksandrovich Revenko called on the junta’s Union Defence Minister General Maung Maung Aye.
