The National Unity Government (NUG) 

  • During the second-phase election in the western part of Bago Region, Minhla Township People’s Defence Force conducted attacks via remote bombs against the junta armed forces guarding near 2 local polling stations. 
  • In Gantgaw Township of Magway Region, there were attacks against the junta armed forces in local villages as part of Yaw Land Operation at the end of December and in early January. Reportedly, Gantgaw District Command managed to seize control of 2 villages. 
  • On January 8, Dawei District PDF (2) completed communication and drone refresher training. 
  • In Kyungsu Township of Tanintharyi Region, a combination of defence forces attacked Pyusawti Militia in Taung Thonelone Village. Reportedly, a junta member died and a gun was confiscated. 

Revolution Activities 

  • On January 11, members of the Myanmar community in Australia protested against the junta’s sham election being held in Myanmar. 
  • Starting from the early morning of January 11, there were heavy battles between the junta army and the revolution forces in 2 townships on Yangon-Mandalay Old Road. 
  • In Chaung-U Township, included in the second phase of the election, in Sagaing Region, the junta army fired heavy artillery and conducted aerial bombing via paramotors. Reportedly, 3 civilians including 2 children lost their lives and 3 others were injured. 
  • The second-phase election was held on January 11. In Shwe Pyi Thar Township of Yangon Region, the voter turnout was very low. Reportedly, there were announcements through loud speakers in wards, calling for people to come and vote at polling stations. 
  • Kim Aris (alias) Ko Htein Linn, young son of State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, was able to support 10 water purifying machines for 12 displaced camps in Karenni State. 
  • According to a report by Spring Revolution Database, the military junta and their fellows committed 3,651 war crimes throughout the country in 2025, killing nearly 3,000 people. 
  • In Tandabin Township of Bago Region, there was a bomb attack via drone at the junta’s General Administration Department during a meeting for the junta’s election. Reportedly, there were casualties among some non-CDM staff. 

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs) 

  • The spokesperson of Shan State Progressive Party/ Shan State Army said that they were investigating the claims of some of their local commanders’ involvement in Kyar Phyant online scams. 

The Military Commission 

  • After a drone attack at the Tandabin Township General Administration Department in Bago Region, polling was suspended on the morning of January 11 and all the local polling stations were closed, according to the local election commission. 
  • The junta propaganda media featured that the number of election staff had been increased due to high voter turnouts so that voters do not have to wait for long at polling station (7) in Mantan Ward of Amarapura Township of Mandalay Region. 
  • The spokesperson of the junta’s National Defence and Security Council claimed that the Hluttaw would be summoned in March after the election and the new government would take office in April. 
  • The junta’s spokesperson Major General Zaw Min Tun claimed that over 100 representatives from the embassies based in Myanmar had observed the second phase of the election. 
  • Instead of handling the allegation of election fraud in 2020 with the Union Election Commission, the military junta seized power. In their 2025 election, the junta’s spokesperson claimed that the complaints of some parties regarding advance voting could be resolved at the UEC. 
  • According to the junta propaganda media, the junta leader Senior General Min Aung Hlaing came to some polling stations in Yangon Region during the second phase of the election.
