The National Unity Government (NUG)

-In Mintone Township of Magway Region, there was an attack on junta troops invading the area to fetch polling boxes. According to Thayet District People’s Defence Force (4), 4 junta soldiers died and many others were injured.

-In Kyaukdagar Township of Bago Region, about 20 junta soldiers including a commander died and weapons were confiscated in the battle in Kyaingkagone Village.

-In Chaung-U Township of Sagaing Region, Monywa District PDF (15) cleared the mines set by the junta army on public roads and streets.

-In Magway Region, a force from Chauk Revolution Army received the supervision of the PDF and they were transformed into Magway District Force (3).

-Ministry of Defence-NUG sent a statement to the 63rd Ta’ang National Revolution Day on January 12.

Revolution Activities

-In Nyaung-U Township of Mandalay Region, 21 BAGAN – People Defense Force completed their basic military training Batch (8).

-In Karen State, a soldier from the junta’s Ka-La-Ya (283) based in KyarIn Seikgyi brought weapons and defected to Phoenix – Special Warfare Force.

-Students Front Army stated that 16 prisoners of war had been caught from the junta army and 13 others had defected to them within two months.

-In Ngape Township of Magway Region, 13 junta soldiers, who had defected to Students Front Army on Ann-Padan Road and Pathein-Monywa Road, have been reportedly serving the SFA.

-In Salingyi Township of Sagaing Region, the junta army taking security at a Chinese-run copper mining project fired heavy artillery. Reportedly, a local man lost his life.

-In the United States, 6 Democratic and Republican MPs submitted a draft to regrant Temporary Protected Status to Myanmar nationals.

-The Special Advisory Council for Myanmar (SAC-M) called on ASEAN and the international community to reject the junta’s sham election which had been staged for the military-proxy Union Solidarity and Development Party to win.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

-To provide leadership for military and  political affairs in the southern part of Chin State, 4 defence forces and township administration teams were formed as the Chin People’s Army.

Politics

-In Hlaingbwe Township of Karen State, the junta army conducted an airstrike on a camp of the Border Guard Force. Reportedly, a BGF member died and 5 others were injured.

-In Tanintharyi Township under Karen National Union Brigade (4) Myeik-Dawei District, 3 conscripted soldiers from the junta army defected to the revolutionary force.

-In Ledo Township and Muu Township of Bago Region, the junta army conducted attacks via heavy weapons and drones. According to the KNU (Central), a person lost their life, 3 people were injured and a house was damaged.

The Military Commission

-The junta propaganda newspaper claimed that there had been attacks in no fewer than 10 townships during the second phase of the election and 2 staff members had died.

-After heavy losses, the junta army carried out airstrikes near Kyaingkagone Village in Kyaukdagar Township of Bago Region.

-According to Myanmar National Airlines under the junta’s Ministry of Transportation, they have invited business people to rent ATR 72- 600 for chartered services of local flights.

-The junta’s Deputy Minister for Finance and Revenue said that in addition to Myanma Economic Bank and Myanmar Farmers Development Bank, 14 private banks had also been allowed to work as PFI banks to provide loans to oil mills more effectively and extensively.

-The junta’s Minister for Industry urged cotton farmers to cooperate in self-production for more income, rather than selling cotton merely as raw material.

-On Monday afternoon, U Aung Saw Win, a member of the junta’s Union Election Commission, met with H.E. Prof. Dr. Surakiart Sathirathai, Chair of Asian Peace and Reconciliation Council in Yangon.
