The National Unity Government (NUG) -In Khin-U Township of Sagaing Region, the junta army conducted an aerial bombing on an IDP camp. Reportedly, 3 displaced people including a woman lost their lives and 10 others were injured. -In Aunglan Township of Magway Region, Thayet District Regiment (2) caught a staff member of the District Education Office, who had allegedly been a drug dealer. -In Natmauk Township of Magway Region, there has been fighting for 4 consecutive days between the junta army and the revolutionary forces. According to People’s Defence Force, no fewer than 15 junta soldiers including an officer died. -Ministry of Social, Labour and Humanitarian Welfare-NUG stated that they have been trying their best to minimize harm to the public by removing landmines and unexploded weapons in Rakhine State. The National Unity Government (NUG)

-In Paukkaung Township of Bago Region, Pyi District People’s Defence Force (2) conducted a mine attack on a junta vehicle.

-According to the data collected by Ministry of Human Rights-NUG until January 1, 4,683 people lost their lives in 4,498 aerial attacks of the junta military.

-In the coordination meeting (1/2026) of Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw, Ministry of Foreign Affairs-NUG presented about their activities and action plan.

-In Longlone Township of Tanintharyi Region, Local People’s Security Group burnt confiscated narcotic substances on Sunday.

-In Aunglan Township of Magway Region, Moe Htay Khine, a non-CDM clerk from District Education Office, was caught along with narcotic substances, according to Thayet District Force (2).

-According to Monywa Township People’s Administration, 3 prisoners were given amnesty under the order of the Acting President of the NUG in Monywa Township of Sagaing Federal Unit.

-In Oatpho Township of Bago Region, there was a drone attack on the junta’s police camp in Wine Village. Reportedly, there were casualties among the junta members.

Revolution Activities

-The military junta announced that the second phase of their election would be held in (100) townships the following week. Reportedly, no fewer than 8 townships on the list have ongoing military tension.

-In December, the junta army carried out (119) airstrikes, killing 176 civilians including the elderly and children, and leaving 325 others injured. When compared with the figure from November, the number of attacks doubled, according to Myanmar Defense & Security Institute.

-In Salingyi Township of Sagaing Region, the junta army conducted an aerial bombing on a local hospital. Reportedly, 3 people including a doctor lost their lives.

-In Magway Prison, the political prisoners had been forced to wash all the dishes used by all the inmates from the entire prison. Reportedly, 35 of them have been beaten and kept in solitary confinement for refusing to do so.

-In Kyaikto Township of Mon State, there were local battles on December 26 between revolutionary forces and the junta army invading the area to take security for the election in Theinzayat. Reportedly, no fewer than 10 junta soldiers died.

-On Monday, a rally of Shwe Okkan protested against the junta’s sham election.

-In Nyaung-U Township of Mandalay Region, Comrade Ko Zi, a focal person of Bagan Pyi Balu Force, stated that they would take action against so-called PDFs kidnapping and robbing, which have been defaming the revolution.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

-Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army stated that farm products including maize and sugarcane were being exported to China via Chinshwehaw border trade route.

The Military Commission

-The military junta announced that narcotic substances worth 2.31 billion MMK had been confiscated in Myeik Township, Tanintharyi Region.

-The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that the military had to lead in resolving political hardships in the country and it was necessary for citizens to study and know the history accurately.

-The military junta presented honorary titles to the junta members, including the Deputy Minister for Information Major General Zaw Min Tun.

-In his propaganda speech, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing claimed that they had been building a world-class standard army.

-The junta leader said that the country had not been able to succeed due to poor judgement of armed groups and the stupidity of their supporters.

-The military junta has continued to demolish the buildings used for online scam operation in Shwe Kokko and KK Park.

-The junta’s Ambassador to Ethiopia met with H.E Mr. Abdullahi Mohamed Warfa, Somalia’s ambassador to Ethiopia, on December 30.

-On Independence Day, the junta leader and his wife hosted a dinner and reception.
