· On the new year day, the NUG declared amnesty for 110 prisoners and detainees in accordance with Article (401/1) for the sake of the Spring Revolution, for health of body and peace of mind of the public, and for the good of humanity.
· The Acting President of the NUG Duwa Lashi La stated that Russia and some neighbouring countries were found to be assisting to strengthen the military dictatorship, and the NUG had to let go of some public areas due to military and technical support of those nations to the military junta.
· On Thursday, the Acting President Duwa Lashi La stated that they would keep committed to building stronger collectivity between the NUG and the revolution forces.
· In Yetashay Township of Bago Region, no fewer than 40 junta soldiers died and weapons were confiscated in local battles on the eastern and western banks of Sittaung River, according to the People’s Defence Force under Naypyidaw Regional Command.
· In No. (1) Military Region under Ministry of Defence-NUG, Myaing Township PDF completed their basic military training Batch (5) on Wednesday.
Revolution Activities
· In Wetlet Township of Sagaing Region, 26 people and 2 monks lost their lives, and over 40 others were injured due to the junta’s airstrikes in December 2025.
· In Ye-U of Sagaing Region, Kyaw Myo Thu, a junta soldier from Kyar Phoo Roundabout Inspection Camp, brought 2 guns and defected to Wolf Guerrilla LDF Ye-U Air Force. Reportedly, he was rewarded with 100 lakh MMK.
· In Yay Township of Mon State, a PDF caught alive 2 conscripted soldiers who had run away from the junta’s Regiment (19).
· In Yezagyo Township of Magway Region, there was an attack on a junta vessel in Chindwin River. Reportedly, a second sergeant from the junta’s Regiment (99) died.
· In Osaka, Japan, Hands of Peace organized an event calling for peace in Myanmar.
Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)
· The Interim Executive Council (IEC) called to try for 2026 to become a starting point of the liberation dream of Karenni State and to keep committed for the entire public of Myanmar.
· In Ngape Township of Magway Region, there was an attack on a junta camp on Ann-Minbu Road Section. According to Chin Defence Force Asho, 3 junta soldiers were seriously injured.
· In Thandwe of Rakhine State, the junta army conducted an aerial bombing via fighter jet on New Year’s night. According to the Arakan Army, people’s houses have been set on fire.
The Military Commission
· The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing claimed again that they would transfer power to the winning party of their election.
· The junta’s Police Force stated that narcotic substances worth over 37 billion MMK, intended to be sent to Rakhine State, had been confiscated in Minbu Township of Magway Region.
· The military junta announced that they had been able to reopen the Mandalay-Madayar-Sintku-Thabaitgyin Road as they had gained full control over it.
· The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that there had been significant progress for national development in 2025.
· The junta’s Central Bank removed 29 companies from the blacklist due to their full entry of export income.
· The junta’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation stated that 4,088 tons of illegal timber had been confiscated from January to December 22, 2025.
· According to the Myanmar Passport Office, an express service, which allows applicants to receive their passports within five days of applying, will be launched on January 5, 2026. This service is designed for individuals who need to travel abroad for urgent or emergency reasons. Applicants using the express service will not be required to wait for the standard online booking timeline or follow regular in-office waiting procedures. Reportedly, the service fee is 545,000MMK.
