The National Unity Government’s (NUG) Ministry of Human Rights released updated data on 31 December 2025, warning that Myanmar’s military junta continues to commit widespread war crimes and human rights violations against civilians across the country, despite staging an illegal sham election, according to figures compiled in its monthly Human Rights Data Dashboard.
The junta is currently conducting a sham, illegal election shaped to its own will. At the same time, they continue to commit acts of violence without pause, while also forcing civilians to cast votes.
The Data Dashboard allows for viewing incidents of human rights violations, massacres, aerial attacks by the junta, and forced conscription, categorized by year and month.
According to the latest data regarding the junta’s aerial attacks, there have been a total of 4,498 incidents, resulting in 4,683 deaths. Among those killed, 637 were children under the age of 18.
In addition, these air attacks have resulted in the destruction of 432 schools, 144 hospitals and clinics, and 650 religious buildings. Using the dashboard, these aerial attacks can be viewed by region on the map of Myanmar and can also be filtered by the type of attack, such as air-strikes by aircraft, drone, paramotor, and gyrocopter.
The data also shows that the junta is continuously committing massacres. A total of 494 massacre incidents have been recorded, with 5,116 fatalities. Among those killed in these massacres, 574 were children under 18 and 926 were women.
Regarding forced military recruitment by the junta, there have been 1,763 incidents of forced recruitment to date, with a total of 31,729 individuals conscripted. The data shows that the Mandalay Region has the highest number of forced recruits, followed by Rakhine State as the second highest.
Looking at the current dashboard for human rights violations, there have been 23,277 incidents. The most frequent type of human rights violation is extrajudicial killing, with 5,351 cases. Sagaing Region has been identified as the area with the highest number of human rights violations.
The Data Dashboards demonstrate in detail that since the beginning of the attempted military coup until now, incidents committed by the junta against civilians have not only increased numerically but continue to occur without pause.
