The Chinese ambassador to Burma, on behalf of the Red Cross Society of China (RCSC), donated US$ 50,000 to the Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) on Wednesday for flood victims in Ayeyawaddy Region.
The flood affected 55 townships in Irrawaddy, Bago, Yangon, Mon, Kayin and Shan states and regions, leaving thousands of people homeless.
Flood triggered by heavy rainfall hit Burma’s Irrawaddy and Bago regions in the past month, devastating 213,840 hectares of farmland, according to reports.
Out of 213,840 hectares in flooded paddy fields, 22,990 hectares were completely ruined, according to reports.
