Burma and Japan will hold a workshop in October to prepare for launching a satellite with Japanese aid to promote the capacity of the Burmese telecommunication and information sectors, official media reported on Thursday.
The workshop will cover an exchange of views on launching a small-scale earth survey satellite provided by the Japanese government to forecast weather, and to provide telecommunications involving aviation and maritime communications, agriculture, marine administration, forest management, mining and other sectors, said a state-run newspaper.
Japan will also help in developing a space-related strategy and provide aid n teaching space-related technology at universities.
