-On January 25, there was a meeting between the National Unity Consultative Council and the NUG. Reportedly, they discussed strong leadership for the revolution and other political affairs.
-Kanbauk Township People’s Defence Force based in Tanintharyi Region was changed into KPDF (802) under the supervision of Ministry of Defence-NUG.
-Magway District Force (3) stated that they would take action against gambling events in Chauk Township of Magway Region.
-Ministry of Defence-NUG called for participation in a campaign – “Moving Towards Tanintharyi”, for less casualties among the PDF comrades in the region.
Revolution Activities
-According to a new investigation of Amnesty International, jet fuel, which the military junta has used for deadly airstrikes against civilians, continues to go into Myanmar through a secret chain.
-Dr. Myint Htwe, former Minister for Health and Sports in the administration of the National League for Democracy government, passed away in Bangkok, Thailand at 5:43 pm Monday.
-During a hearing at the International Court of Justice regarding the allegation of genocide against Rohingya people, Mr. Paul Reichler, a lawyer for Gambia, stated along with strong evidence that the activities of Myanmar military were acts of genocide.
-In Myaing Township of Magway Region, the junta troops have been burning the crops of local people. Therefore, a local social group call for selling the crops rather than storing them.
-In Kyaukdagar Township of Bago Region, a teacher, who had joined the Civil Disobedience Movement, lost his life in a battle.
-In Shadaw Township of Karenni State, children and young people have been infected with serious skin problems.
-The leaders of Korean Civil Society Organizations urged the Koren government not to accept the junta’s sham election and to support Myanmar’s democratic movement.
-According to the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners, the political prisoners in the junta’s prisons nationwide have been faced with various form of oppression.
-Justice for Myanmar called on the international governments not to recognize the organizations which would arise out of the junta’s sham election and to support the revolution of Myanmar people.
-In front of the Korean President Office, Myanmar nationals from Korea, Japan and Australia conducted a press conference against the junta’s sham election.
Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)
-In Sedo Township under Karen National Union-KNU Brigade (4) Myeik-Dawei District, the junta army dropped two bombs via a fighter jet. Reportedly, a house was damaged.
The Military Commission
-A spokesperson of Chinese Foreign Department said that China praised the junta’s election in Myanmar and they are ready to deepen cooperation with Myanmar.
-At a time of medicine shortage in the country due to restrictions on import licenses, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that it is necessary to control non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and heart diseases.
-Thai Army transferred back 68 prisoners of war, who had escaped from Mese Prison in Karenni State, to the junta army.
-The junta’s spokesperson Major General Zaw Min Tun claimed that the voter turnout was 54% for the three phases of the election and it was a free and fair election as the junta leader Senior General Min Aung Hlaing himself had observed it on the ground.
-In Yangon, there was a rally in support of Myanmar delegation at the ICJ, in front of Maha Bandula Park.
-Taunggyi Education Degree College would reportedly be upgraded to university level.
-The junta’s Myanmar Investment Commission approved of 20 new investments worth 62.911 million USD, which could create over 3,300 job opportunities.
-The military junta announced that they had continued to inspect telecom frauds and detained 27 foreigners from 4 foreign countries.
-According to the military junta, there were rocket attacks and drop bomb attacks via drone in 11 out of 61 townships on the day of the third-phase election and a civilian was injured.
