The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • According to the Ministry of Social, Labour and Humanitarian Affairs-NUG on Saturday, Myanmar people need preventive measures for health due to rising air pollution in the country.
  • In Oatpho Township of Bago Region, Maung San, a junta’s follower in Aung Thukha Ward, was shot dead due to his attempt to escape during arrest, according to Thayarwaddy District Regiment (3802/5).
  • On the 81st Anti-Fascist Day, the NUG stated that the public’s unity is the main weapon that can uproot the military dictatorship.
  • Myanmar’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations U Kyaw Moe Tun stated that the military junta has continued to set ablaze villages, farms and crops of the public intentionally.

Revolution Activities

  • World Food Programme warned that the ripple effects of the conflict in the Middle East would worsen food insecurity in Myanmar.
  • Ma Chan Mya Mya Thaw, an activist for the revolution against the military dictatorship, was present at the event of Armed Forces Day and photos of her attending have been seen.  Therefore, revolutionary groups called for social punishment against her.
  • There have been no fewer than four incidents in which people fainted and lost their lives due to the intense heat in Myanmar while queuing at filling stations to buy fuel at the time of the nationwide fuel crisis.
  • In Thandaunggyi Township of Karen State, the Brave Warriors for Myanmar carried out an attack via 107mm grenades on the celebration of Armed Forces Day at the junta’s Bayint Naung Military Training School. Reportedly, there were casualties in the incident.
  • In Thayetchaung Township of Tanintharyi Region, there has been heavy fighting for over a month. Reportedly, the junta army conducted aerial bombing in the area.
  • Wan Kuok Koi, a former leader of the Chinese criminal organization 14K Triad, is one of the main investors in Dongmei Park in Myawaddy Township, a scam compound associated with the Border Guard Force under the military junta. According to Justice for Myanmar, the UK put sanctions on him in their crackdown on scam centres across Southeast Asia.
  • At the time of the US policy review towards Myanmar by the Trump administration and United States Department of State, the Congressional committee on foreign affairs sent a letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The members suggested isolating Myanmar’s military junta, imposing sanctions, and coordinating US policy through a senior official.
  • Amidst the junta’s aerial assaults, Sagaing Strike Group conducted the second conference somewhere in the region.
  • According to the WFP, the victims of Sagaing Major Earthquake have had to face high prices of food and fertilizer, along with a fuel crisis arising out of the conflict in the Middle East.
  • On the fifth anniversary of People’s Revolution Alliance (Magway), the Chairman of Central Committee stated that the comrades must proceed with three commitments, including to favour public’s interest over their lives.
  • At the entrance to Ye-U in Sagaing Region, Wolf Guerrilla LPDF Ye. U fired heavy weapons at the junta’s inspection gate at Kyar Phoo Roundabout in commemoration of Anti-Fascist Day.
  • In Chaung-U Township of Sagaing Region, the revolutionary forces attacked junta troops on their way to send rations to the junta’s Pyusawti Militia in Kinmundaw Village. Reportedly, there were a large number of casualties among the junta members and a junta policeman was caught alive.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

  • According to the constitution of the Karen National Union, a township-level congress election is held every four years in Duplaya District comprising Winye Township, Notakaw Township, Kyonedoe Township and Kawkarait Township.

The Military Commission

  • At the parade on Armed Forces Day in Naypyidaw, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that they had been building their forces with the aspiration to be a modern army with high combat skills.
  • Major General Zaw Min Tun, the junta’s spokesperson, was not present at the event on the junta’s Armed Forces Day. Rumour has it that he has been removed from his position.
  • According to the junta’s Ministry of Energy, the Online Monitoring Centre has been monitoring the sale of fuel determined by engine size (cc) at the filling stations in Naypyidaw Union Territory, Yangon, Mandalay and Taunggyi.
  • In his speech on the 81st Armed Forces Day, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing mentioned that support would be given to the new government which would emerge from the junta’s election.
  • Myanmar commemorated the first anniversary of the devastating Mandalay earthquake with a ceremony at the Myanmar International Convention Center (1) in Naypyidaw. Reportedly, present on the occasion was the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing.
