(Mizzima) – Burma’s Parliament ended its third session on Wednesday shortly after Aung San Suu Kyi and her party's elected parliament members took the oath of office.
The next session of Parliament will open in July.
In the third session of the Parliament, which lasted from January 26 to May 2, a total of eight bills were approved to become laws which included the 2012 Supplementary Union Budget Law, 2012 Union Budget Law, 2012-13 National Planning Bill, Labor Dispute Settlement Bill, Environmental Conservation Law and some village or farmland related laws, according to the New Light of Myanmar, a state-run newspaper.
Four other bills remain to be approved to become laws including the Union Election Commission Laws, Labor Dispute Settlement Law, 2011- 12 National Plan Bill and Important Commodity and Service Bill.
In the April 1 by-elections, the NLD won 43 out of 45 open parliamentary seats, of which 37 were in the House of Representatives (Lower House), four in the House of Nationalities (Upper House) and two in region or state parliaments. the rest of your post here.
