Rangoon (Mizzima) – Security staff of Myanma Railways demolished 13 illegal houses of squatters near Pazundaung railway station in Rangoon on Monday.
“In my house, there are students. When they come home, I don’t know what to do,” said a man whose house was demolished. “We lived here for about 13 years. Now we don’t know where to live.”
Earlier, the railroad authorities ordered the squatters to demolish the houses by the Monday deadline.
In July, authorities demolished illegal houses of squatters in suburb quarters in Mayangon, Insein and Hlaingtharya townships in Rangoon.
