New Delhi (Mizzima) - Nine people were killed and over 60 injured, when Burma’s famous water festival in Rangoon, was rudely disrupted by a series of bomb blasts today afternoon.
News agencies said at least three bombs exploded in quick succession in Mingalartaungnyunt Township around 3 p.m. Quoting police sources, it said that at least nine people - five men and four women died and 62 were injured. The figures could be higher on both counts.
The explosions occurred near Kandawgyi Lake, which was crowded with people enjoying Burma's four day water festival from April 13 to 16.
