Spring Revolution Daily News for 12 March 2026

The National Unity Government (NUG)

· According to Bago Regional Command, 11 comrades of the Defence Force sacrificed their lives in the operation in which over 300 people, detained by the junta army, were rescued in Nyaunglebin District.

· In Nyaunglebin District of Bago Region, medical care has been provided to the people injured due to the junta’s ill-treatment, according to Spring Warriors Column.

· On March 9, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs-NUG Daw Zin Mar Aung met online with Myanmar nationals in Israel and other areas of the Middle East and encouraged them.

· In Magway Region, Gantgaw District Force stated that unwanted gunshots or mine explosions were not to be conducted in the area under their influence.

· In Pale Township of Sagaing Region, 3 conscripted soldiers from the junta troop invading the area brought weapons and defected to Yinmabin District Force.

· Under Ayeyarwady Regional People’s Defence Force Strategic (29), Ayeyarwady PDF (3) released the record of their mine-clearing activities in a village.

Revolution Activities

· Justice for Myanmar called on the Royal Canadian Mounted Police to swiftly investigate and take action against a family of 4 Canadian citizens involved in the pearl business, one of the main income sources for the junta army.

· In Tigyaint Township of Sagaing Region, the junta army conducted aerial bombings on local villages for three consecutive days. Reportedly, no fewer than 8 local residents lost their lives and many others were injured.

· 45 civil and revolution organizations jointly called for the swift implementation of an alliance of forces with  political equality, not with arms, when resolving the conflicts among the revolution forces at the time of the Spring Revolution.

· In Magway Region, the junta army from Regiment (101) in Pakkoku has been heading to Pauk Township via Pauk-SeikPhyu Road Section. Therefore, the revolution forces warned local people along the way to take caution.

· Burmese Women Union (BWU) stated that 63 women had lost their lives in February due to the junta’s airstrikes and attacks on the ground.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

· According to Institute of Chin Affairs, the junta army has had heavy losses in their offensive to regain control over Falam Township of Chin State, and they have carried out more aerial attacks.

· In Ann Township of Rakhine State, the junta army conducted aerial bombardment via fighter jets on the detention camp of prisoners of war in Darletchaung Area. According to the Arakan Army, 116 prisoners of war including officers died and 32 others were injured along with some casualties of civilian detainees.

· Ye Guerrilla Force No.8001 Battalions Medical Teams announced that practical lessons of first aid training had been provided to medical comrades during basic military training Batch (6) by Ramyana Mon Army.

The Military Commission

· On Tuesday, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that the political parties, which had lost in the junta’s election, were unable to take advantage of their opportunity effectively.

· In a meeting on reviewing the activities over the period of five years, the junta leader claimed that they had been arranging for the amendment of the constitution for peace in the upcoming Hluttaw (Parliament).

· Myanmar and Sri Lanka discussed economic cooperation and investment promotion between the two countries.

· The military junta announced that 73 foreigners involved in telecom frauds had been handed back to their respective countries and 8 others had been arrested.

· The junta’s Commander of East Regional Command met with militias from Southern Shan State and Kayah State.

· In Kyaikto Township of Mon State, a Chinese citizen, who had been involved in telecom fraud in Thailand and who had entered Myanmar illegally via a border route, was arrested.

· The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing blamed that when reviewing the current clearance operation as well as the cases of telecom fraud and illicit drugs in the country, it was found out that some EAOs had worked for their self-interest and continued survival.
