The National Unity Government (NUG)

The NUG and the National Unity Consultative Council jointly stated that 613 cases of sexual violence, committed by the junta army from 2021 to 2026, had been reported to the Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar (IIMM).

Union Minister of the NUG Dr. Win Myat Aye stated that women and girls play an incredible role in the revolution. He also expressed his honour for the women comrades who had sacrificed their lives as well as for the women who stay committed to the revolution amidst hardships.

The NUCC and the JCC-GP released a joint statement, calling for the implementation of equal rights and justice for women and girls on International Women’s Day.

In Sagaing Region, a junta soldier conscripted in Kantbalu Township defected to Monywa District Battalion (12).

Revolution Activities

After the issue of fuel oil shortage in Monywa, the price gap is more than double between big gas stations and shops.

In Ye Township of Mon State, a combination of the revolution forces conducted an attack on junta troops invading near Kanin Kamaw Village.

In Kyaikto Township of Mon State, there was a mine attack on the junta army. According to Urban Operation Column, they managed to attack the car carrying the junta’s strategist.

In Ngazun Township and Tada-U Township of Yangon Region, there was a mine attack on a junta army contingent on secret patrol. Reportedly, 7 junta members died and many others were injured.

In Minkun Area of Mandalay Region, there was an attack on the junta troop operating and clearing the area before an umbrella-hoisting ceremony. Reportedly, no fewer than 4 junta soldiers died and 8 others including another strategist were injured.

According to the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners, up to 154 people lost their lives in 2026 due to the junta’s airstrikes.

In Sagaing Region, there was an attack on a vehicle from the junta’s Regiment 33. According to Brave Heart Army, 2 junta soldiers died.

In Wetlet Township of Sagaing Region, the junta army has conducted drone attacks. Consequently, local people from the entire villages have had to flee.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

In Falam Township of Chin State, the junta army conducted an airstrike and fired heavy weapons at Simzawl Village. According to Chin National Organization, 2 people lost their lives and 3 others were injured.

In Ngape Township of Magway Region, the Arakan Army seized control over the last security outpost of Natyekan Strategic Camp. Reportedly, the military junta has used aerial attacks on a daily basis.

On March 8, Karenni Nationalities Defence Force called to protest against the Patriarchy and all forms of oppression, in addition to the military dictatorship.

According to Karen National Union (Myeik-Dawei District), the Kawthoolei Army (KTLA) led by Saw El Kwi arrested and ruthlessly killed a comrade of Battalion (12) under Karen National Liberation Army Brigade (4) and a township youth labourer.

In Kyaukgyi Township and Mone Township of Bago Region, the junta army carried out attacks via drone and heavy artillery. According to the KNU (Central), 5 people were injured.

The Military Commission

On Sunday, Gyaing (Zathapyin) Bridge and Attaran Bridge (Mawlamyine) were opened.

The Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation stated that they had been making an effort to gain power access in a timely manner due to a temporary error in the power system at 12:52 pm Sunday.

According to the junta’s Ministry of Transportation, vehicles with fake license plates or fancy ones are to register by the deadline and legal action will be taken against those who fail to do so.

The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that the hospitals in Yangon, Mandalay and Naypyidaw have been facilitated with seven new radiotherapy machines after 2021 and, general hospitals have been operating with 15 radiotherapy machines and four brachytherapy devices. In total, Myanmar is using 26 radiotherapy machines and nine brachytherapy devices.

The military junta adopted the law amending the Bar Council Act, containing an amendment that a fine up to 100 lakh MMK and 3-year imprisonment could be sentenced to those practicing law without certification or registering at courts, and those dealing with a matter outside of courts.

The military junta enacted laws banning discounted alcohol sales, advertising, free samples and lucky draw promotions.
