Reportedly, the NUG has been discussing with an alliance of four ethnic armed forces, K3C, for a cooperative leadership to raise the momentum of Myanmar’s Spring Revolution and gain victory.
In the south of Pauk Township in Magway Region, junta soldiers from Regiment (99) and Pyusawti members invaded the area. They also faced an attack by Myaing People’s Defence Force and Pauk People’s Defence Force. Reportedly, 18 junta members died.
At 7:00 pm on February 8, the second meeting was conducted between the National Unity Consultative Council and the NUG for strong leadership and politics.
Magway Federal Unit stated that they would join hands with the public for Legislature, Executive and Judiciary pillars. They added that they would prioritize justice and recovery for public’s losses caused by the military junta.
Revolution Activities
In Salingyi Township of Sagaing Region, Local People’s Administration announced on Tuesday that action would be taken against 10 private non-CDM staff and 2 companies working for the military junta, including the copper sector.
On Monday, Burmese Women’s Union stated that 55 women, including 2 pregnant women and 4 young women under 18, lost their lives in January due to the junta’s attacks via air and on the ground.
In Kalay Township of Sagaing Region, a local strike committee, along with the public, protested against the military dictatorship on the 5th year of the coup.
In Indaw Area of Sagaing Region, the PDF provided financial support to the families of the comrades who had lost lives in the battles against the junta army.
In the southeast part of Myaing Township in Magway Region, the junta army carried out an airstrike on the monastery in Nyaung Oak Village without any local battle. Reportedly, 2 monks and a person were injured whereas religious buildings were damaged.
The Foreign Minister of the Philippines, the rotating Chair of the ASEAN, stated that they would continue to handle Myanmar’s affairs with the 5-Point Consensus and focus on dialogue inclusive of all stakeholders. She also said that they do not recognize the results of the junta’s election.
Chin Human Rights Organization strongly condemned the junta’s use of jet fuel imported from Iran in their aerial bombings on religious buildings in Chin State.
In Monywa Township of Sagaing Region, there was an attack on the junta soldiers near the Northwest Regional Command. Reportedly, 6 junta soldiers including a captain died.
Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)
The Vice-Chair (1) of Kachin Independence Council stated that despite frequent offers of the military junta to discuss with the Kachin Independence Army, they responded that the invitation would be accepted only when it includes all revolution forces including the NUG.
Lieutenant General Gun Maw, the Vice-Chair of the KIC, said that they keep trying with the aspiration of many changes in 2026.
It has been more than a year since the KIA and the alliance started their fight to seize control over the town of Bhamo. Lieutenant General Gun Maw stated that it was a battle of political integrity and they had been doing it as needed.
In Mone Township, Shwe Kyin Township and Kyaukgyi Township under Karen National Union, there were casualties among civilians due to the junta’s attacks.
Among 57 political parties that contested the junta’s election, 26 parties did not win a seat.
In Hmawbi Township of Yangon Region, 2 men died of lack of oxygen while cleaning inside an oil truck on the bypass near Bwetgyi Village.
The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that they would combat terrorists, with the collective effort of soldiers, police and the public.
The military junta announced that they had been arranging waterway trips to tourist destinations in Shan State from community-based tourism villages in Naypyidaw.
The junta’s Ministry of Labour stated that fees for Overseas Worker Identification Card (OWIC) and a fine for their loss/ damage must be paid starting from March 1.
The toll fee for Yangon-Dala Bridge would be collected starting from February 12 and vehicles with poor resistance would not be allowed to pass.
The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that armed groups have been seeking self-interest by manufacturing narcotic substances and illegally extracting natural resources in the areas that lack stability.
The military junta stated that basic and advance military training for university forces were opened on February 9 for the 2025-2026 academic year.
The junta leader said that the 2025 election was successful. He also expressed thanks to those who had cast their votes.
