The National Unity Government (NUG)
- In Magway Region, more forces arrived at the junta’s Regiment (101) based in Pakkoku. As they might invade the area, the People’s Defence Force warned local people and travelers on three road sections to take caution.
- In Paungty Township of Bago Region, Pyi District PDF (1) conducted a mine attack on the junta army invading the area.
- Under the supervision of the PDF in Tanintharyi Regional Command, 3 units of Column (3) were reformed as Battalion (8003).
- According to the Ministry of Defence-NUG, capacity-building training for trainers were opened in February and successfully completed. Reportedly, they were intended to upgrade the exercise of the PDFs from all sides.
- On Friday, the Joint Director of the Asian Unit under Human Rights Watch came to the NUG Representative Office in Japan.
- The Foreign Minister of the Philippines Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro met with the Permanent Representatives to the United Nations from the ASEAN member states, including Myanmar Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun. Reportedly, they discussed Myanmar’s affairs and regional security.
- According to the Ministry for Social, Labour and Humanitarian Affairs-NUG, daytime temperatures hves been on the rise in most cities in Myanmar, along with the issue of air pollution. Therefore, they released some recommendations.
Revolution Activities
- On social media, Maung Saung Kha, a leader of Spring Revolution Alliance, posted that they had been directly discussing with the Military Headquarters under the Ministry of Defence-NUG regarding the comrades detained in No. (1) Regional Command.
- According to social workers, scarcity of fuel oil has impacted social work.
- On Friday, British Council Myanmar stated that the suspension of student visas for Myanmar students by the UK government was just temporary and the programme would be reflected upon on a regular basis.
- Myanmar Internet Project issued preventive measures as the junta’s Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) is able to track the locations of the public and could pose more danger.
- Ko Htein Linn (alias) Kim Aris, the younger son of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, stated that the junta’s claim of amnesty was just a trick aimed at the international community.
- The People’s Goal announced that 3 junta soldiers had joined the public and 5 others had been caught as prisoners of war in the last week of February.
- During the closed-door meeting of the UN Security Council about Myanmar affairs, Foreign Minister of the Philippines Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro stated that they are committed to the implementation of the ASEAN 5-Point Consensus.
Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)
- In Ledo Township and Muu Township under Karen National Union, the junta army has conducted attacks targeting civilians. Reportedly, 4 people were injured.
The Military Commission
- On Friday night, the junta’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed their concerns over ongoing attacks in the Middle East.
- The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing claimed that it was expected to gain the economic growth by 3.4% in 2026-2027 fiscal year under the tenure of the so-called government of the Union Solidarity and Development Party.
- Despite nationwide fighting including battles in Rakhine State, the junta leader said that he was committed to the path of the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement for eternal peace.
- The junta leader claimed that it was expected to gain the GDP worth 195,032 billion MMK in 2026-2027 fiscal year, along with the economic growth of 3.4%.
- The junta’s Road Transport Administration Department announced that the vehicles imported under the permission of the Trade Bureau and after the taxation at the revenue department must register by the deadline.
