Korea to Rangoon flights scheduled

Tuesday, 26 June 2012 09:49 Mizzima News

Korean Air will launch direct flights to Rangoon from Incheon, west of Seoul, starting in September.

Four weekly flights will be offered starting on Sept. 13, with travel time to be six hours, according to the Korea Times. There are currently no direct flights to Burma from South Korea.

Korean Air said that it would use a 138-seat Boeing 737-800 passenger jets on the route.

Many South Korean businessmen are exploring business opportunities in Burma, which is encouraging foreign investors to take advantage of its low-income wage force and its proximity to Southeast Asia, in addition to its abundant energy resources.
