Mizzima awarded global JTI certificate for reliable news on Myanmar

Burmese monks protest outside Burmese embassy

Buddhist monks from Burma protested outside the Burmese embassy in Bangkok on Tuesday, calling for an end to the fighting in Kachin State, the release of all political prisoners and the right to return to Burma to vote in the 2015 election, according to a report by Reuters news agency.

Burmese President Thein Sein was scheduled to meet with members of the Burmese community in Thailand inside the embassy.
