The National Unity Government (NUG)

-In Nyaunglebin Township of Bago Region, the military junta committed a mass slaughter of 28 people. According to the NUG, the revolution forces have continued to face the junta army in Painzalote Town and local villages; Kyaunggone, Yedwingone and Karugone.

-U Nay Phone Latt, the spokesperson of the Union Prime Minister Office-NUG, stated that the perpetrators of war crimes including massacres targeting civilians should not be recognized as the official government of the country.

-On Saturday, the National Unity Consultative Council called on the Ta’ang National Liberation Army and the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army to stop fighting, view the dispute as a partner conflict and resolve it peacefully in a political manner.

-Myanmar’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations U Kyaw Moe Tun stated that the scope of the man-made disaster in Myanmar, arisen out of the junta’s hunger for power, had been unbelievably massive.

Revolution Activities

-In Sagaing Region, a political prisoner lost his life in Kalay Prison due to inadequate healthcare. Reportedly, his funeral was completed on Saturday.

-In Taungoo Township of Bago Region, Brave Warriors for Myanmar conducted a rocket attack on the junta’s War Weapons Management Force (848).

-Somewhere in the northeast of Myaing Township in Magway Region, the junta army conducted an airstrike via two fighter jets.

-The UK Ambassador Eleanor Sanders stated that the election organized by Myanmar military junta was not free or fair, and that they would just keep supporting the ASEAN Five-Point Consensus.

-At the 61st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) called for a comprehensive ban of weapons on Myanmar military junta and a presentation about the situation of human rights in Myanmar as soon as possible to the International Criminal Court.

-In Thazi of Mandalay Region, the junta soldiers entered mosques and houses to recruit conscripted soldiers.

-Under the guidance of the Communist Party of Burma, the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) was reformed and they organized an event on the 5th anniversary of their establishment in a liberated area on Sunday.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

-On Saturday night, the TNLA announced that they would try to resolve their dispute with the MNDAA via meetings and negotiation.

-On Saturday, the MNDAA asserted that it was the TNLA that had begun the attack in local battles in Kutkhine Area of Northern Shan State.

-Karen National Union stated that a combined force of Karen National Liberation Army seized a junta basecamp which had stationed on No. (8) Myeik-Dawei Union Road after the military coup.

-After seizing the junta’s Bawdhi Camp, the Kawthoolei Army attacked and destroyed nearby border outpost of the KNLA, according to the KNU.

-In Namkam Township seized by the TNLA, the MNDAA conducted an offensive against the TNLA camps on Sunday.

-According to the KNU Myeik-Dawei District, they were after the junta soldiers who had run away from Winwa Camp in Thayetchaung Township of Tanintharyi Region. Reportedly, there were casualties among the junta members and more weapons were confiscated.

-In Karenni State, the Karenni Nationalities Defence Force carried out a guerrilla attack on the junta troops invading Fruso-Tale Road Section. Reportedly, there were casualties.

The Military Commission

-The first day of the First Regular Session of Third Pyithu Hluttaw will take place on March 16. Reportedly, the Chair and the Vice-Chair of the Parliament will be elected.

-The military junta announced that 86 foreigners including 80 Chinese nationals, who had illegally entered the country across the border, had been arrested in Myawaddy Township.

-On Friday, the junta’s Foreign Minister Than Swe met with Mr. Deng Hijun, Special Envoy for Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China. Reportedly, they discussed Myanmar’s peace process and combating online scams on the border area.

-The junta’s Ministry of Energy announced that for vehicles with unscannable barcodes, fuel stations will record the vehicle details and issue a temporary QR code solely for the purpose of purchasing fuel. For private vehicles undertaking long-distance journeys, additional fuel can be purchased without the need for a second scan. By presenting a receipt of a purchase made earlier that day, drivers may buy fuel again at stations located along highways.

-The junta’s spokesperson Zaw Min Tun claimed that Myanmar holds gasoline in reserve for 40 days and diesel for 50 days. He called not to worry unnecessarily about fuel. He added that fuel-saving programs had to proceed due to the international situation. He urged the public to join in and help.

-The junta’s Yangon Chief Minister Soe Thein talked about right allocation and supply of fuel to fuel stations, timely arrival of allocated fuel in the region, inspection with comprehensive teams for no illegal storage or sale of fuel, systematic inspection of even/odd vehicles on even/odd days, and inspection with comprehensive teams for license-less vehicles including the nighttime.
