Spring Revolution Alliance calls for talks in ongoing armed confrontation between Brotherhood Alliance members

The Spring Revolution Alliance (SRA) has called for dialogue to resolve the ongoing conflict between the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) and the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA).
The SRA said that since the success of Operation 1027, the Three Brotherhood Alliance composed of the TNLA, MNDAA, and Arakan Army (AA) has maintained strong ties and solidarity among oppressed groups, which all Spring Revolution forces admire and respect.
The statement also noted that revolutionary forces are proud of having fought alongside the Three Brotherhood Alliance during Operation 1027 in their shared effort to overthrow the military dictatorship.
However, the SRA expressed concern about fighting which broke out between the MNDAA and TNLA in Kutkai on 14 March.
It warned that the armed clashes between the two groups affect not only the organizations involved but could also have serious consequences for the broader revolutionary movement across the country.
For this reason, the SRA urged both sides to resolve their dispute through dialogue rather than armed confrontation, emphasizing that doing so would serve the interests of the entire Union and the people who support the revolution.
Several other groups, including the National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC), the Special Region 1 Health Force, and the Mandalay Health Family, have also called for an immediate halt to the fighting and encouraged peaceful political dialogue between the MNDAA and TNLA.
The MNDAA released a statement on 14 March claiming that the TNLA would bear full responsibility for any consequences following MNDAA counterattacks. The group said the situation escalated after TNLA forces intercepted MNDAA troops during a routine patrol.
Later that day, MNDAA troops reportedly launched a four-pronged offensive into Kutkai and captured the town on 15 March.
On the morning of 16 March, sources told Mizzima that MNDAA forces carried out drone bomb attacks on a TNLA base at 12-Mile Hill, located about 12 miles from Namhkam, between Nam Phat Ka and Namhkam.
The MNDAA also said it had launched simultaneous attacks on TNLA positions in Kutkai but added that it still hopes to resolve the dispute through dialogue and negotiations.
According to Shwe Phee Myay News Agency, there are claims that China may be using MNDAA forces to secure access to the Pyidaungsu Highway held by the military junta. The report also stated that representatives of the junta and MNDAA were holding talks in Lashio on the morning of 16 March.
