Spring Revolution Daily News for 15 February 2026:


The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • Ministry of Social, Labour and Humanitarian Affairs-NUG announced that movements had been conducted at IDP camps in commemoration of Myanmar Children’s Day, which falls on February 13.
  • Ministry of Human Rights-NUG was able to record 633 cases of human rights violations by the junta army in January alone. The military junta carried out 220 airstrikes within the month, killing 69 people. The Ministry has been gathering evidence to take action against perpetrators.
  • In Aunglan Township of Magway Region, revolution forces attacked a troop contingent of about 30 junta soldiers and an armoured truck on February 11. Reportedly, 3 junta members died, according to Naypyidaw Regional Command.
  • In Yezagyo Township of Magway Region, the junta army conducted airstrikes and fired heavy weapons on local villages for two consecutive days. The People’s Defence Force stated that 3 people had lost their lives and monasteries and houses had been damaged in the incidents.
  • In Nattalin Township of Bago Region, there were local battles between the junta army and Local Defence Forces for two consecutive days. After that, the junta soldiers set fire to over 30 houses.
  • In Thegone Township of Bago Region, there was an attack on the junta’s inspection gate in Bupyaw Village. Reportedly, 2 junta members died and some items were confiscated.
  • In the United States, an event was held on the 3rd anniversary of the opening of the Office of the Foreign Ministry-NUG in Washington DC on 13 February.

Revolution Activities

  • In Hpakant Township of Kachin State, there was an explosion in Taungpyo Village as some children touched an unexploded 40mm grenade. Consequently, a boy aged 7 lost his life and 3 others were injured.
  • In Nattalin Township of western Bago Region, there was an attack on junta troops invading the area. Reportedly, 15 junta members died.
  • In Kalaw Township of Southern Shan State, Urban Task Force Aung Ban conducted an event on the 4th anniversary of their establishment.
  • In Wetlet Township of Sagaing Region, Local Public’s Strike Committee carried out a mobile performance in 16 local villages to commemorate the 111th birthday of General Aung San, the architect of Myanmar’s independence.
  • According to People’s Goal, 7 junta soldiers, police and militia members defected to them and 14 others surrendered as prisoners of war in the first week of February.
  • Justice for Myanmar announced that the Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) failed to fulfil obligations to carry out risk-based due diligence under the OECD Guidelines for human rights in its business relationship with Air KBZ.
  • In Magway Region, there was a guerrilla attack on junta troops on their way out of Kamma Myoma Police Station. Reportedly, 3 junta soldiers died.
  • On February 12, the Foreign Ministry of the Philippines stated that the international community, including the Philippines, hopes for the Myanmar junta to release more political prisoners.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

  • According to Chin National Defence Force (CNDF), the junta army had a great loss, and 11 weapons and a drone were seized in the local battle between Tedim Township and Falam Township of Chin State.
  • In the area under the Kachin Independence Organization, the 4th graduation ceremony of Kachin State Comprehensive University was conducted on February 14. Reportedly, Lieutenant General Gun Maw, Vice Chairman of the Kachin Independence Council, delivered a speech.

The Military Commission

  • The junta’s Labour Diplomatic Office in Bangkok stated that the insurance and compensation worth 970,000 baht had been received for a Myanmar worker who had lost his life in a car accident in Bangkok in April 2025.
  • The Chair of the junta’s Union Election Commission said that the political parties that did not win a seat are able to carry out politics outside of Parliament to gain public support by working for the interests of the people and voters.
  • The junta propaganda media claimed that 141 men and 9 women from armed groups including the PDF had returned to the legal fold and they had been handed over back to their guardians in Mandalay.
  • The junta’s Chief Minister of Yangon Region said that the public would gain deep insights about tea from Myanmar’s Tea Festival.
  • The Chair of the junta’s UEC said that the number of elected parties had increased due to the adoption of mixed MMP system, and compared to previous elections, more ethnic parties and small parties were able to enter the Hluttaw.
  • The junta’s Chief Minister of Mandalay Region called for timely completion of renovation activities at the Mandalay Moat and religious structures that had been damaged during the major earthquake.
  • On the 79th Union Day, the junta’s Chief Minister of Ayeyarwady Region said that they had been trying for sufficiency of rice, meat and oil in the national effort for prosperity and food security.
