Spring Revolution Daily News for 12 February 2026

The National Unity Government (NUG) 

  • U Nay Phone Latt, spokesperson of the NUG, stated that they had paid the minimum payment to the United Nations for Myanmar, under representative Kyaw Moe Tun, not to lose the right to vote. 
  • On the 78th Karen National Day, the NUG sent a statement that the sacrifices and cooperation of Karen ethnic leaders and comrades play a vital role in the success of the Spring Revolution
  • According to Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration-NUG, Township People’s Security Force and Judiciary Department burnt narcotic drugs in Indaw Township of Sagaing Region. 
  • Through the funds earned from the 1500-Lakh Campaign,  Yangon Regional People’s Defence Force equipped their members with uniforms and bullet-proof items. 
  • The NUG stated that the 79th Panglong Agreement Day would be celebrated at 9:00 am on February 12. 
  • Ministry of Human Rights-NUG provided training on the Military Code of Conduct and International Humanitarian Law to their focal persons. 
  • According to the National Unity Consultative Council, they discussed with the NUG about the reform of the Democracy Charter Part (2) to uproot the military dictatorship and use the revolutionary forces more collectively. 

Revolution Activities 

  • On February 9, the U.S. House of Representatives unanimously passed a bill aimed at restricting the Myanmar military junta and protecting Myanmar citizens. 
  • In Pauk Township of Magway Region, the junta army conducted an aerial bombing at Chatkan Village. Reportedly, 5 people including 4 women died. 
  • In Chauk Township of Magway Region, there was a clash between the revolution forces and the junta army. Reportedly, 10 junta members died and a member of Pyusawti Militia was caught alive. 
  • In Kyaikto Township of Mon State, 2 conscripted soldiers from the junta army defected to Strategic Force (27) of the PDF Regional Command, according to People’s Embrace. 
  • In Hmawbi Township of Yangon Region, an urban guerrilla force conducted an attack via mines and grenades on the cars of Pyusawti Militia on their way out for conscription on Tuesday night. 
  • In Thanglang Township of Chin State, the junta army carried out an airstrike on Talankwa Village on Tuesday noon. Reportedly, 6 people lost their lives and at least 7 others were injured. Regarding it, Chin Human Rights Organizations called on the international community to investigate and take action. 
  • In Kalay Township of Sagaing Region, local strike committee protested against the military dictatorship. 

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs) 

  • A video was released in which the members of Karenni Nationalities Defence Force had been destroying poppy plantations in Demoso Township of Karenni State. Subsequently, there has been criticism regarding poppy cultivation in the area. 
  • The Secretary (2) of Karenni State Interim Executive Council said that they are ready to cooperate in resolving the issue of water pollution in the Salween River due to mining activities. 
  • The Commander in Chief of the Arakan Army met with Maya Area Administrative Council to strengthen alliance relations. 
  • The Chair of the Karen National Union stated that as planned, the military junta had conducted and won the election in a wicked manner to rule the country under nationalism and lifelong dictatorship. 

The Military Council 

  • In Mandalay Region, the military junta has been arranging to resume administration in Moegok starting from February 14. Reportedly, they sealed off about 300 houses under the accusation of having relations with the revolutionary forces. 
  • The Director General of the junta’s General Administration Department under the Ministry of Home Affairs said that they had already instructed to report about the cases in which a fixed amount of money exceed limits in the trade of real estate and gold. He added that although real estate sector makes such reports, the report from the gold sector is less than 10%. 
  • Myanmar and Nicaragua discussed the reciprocal opening of embassies. 
  • The junta’s Minister for Agriculture said that research was being conducted and test-production was being made to reduce the need of agricultural machinery import. He added that the techniques learned were being shared with the private sector. 
  • The military junta announced that narcotics and controlled chemicals worth 400 lakh MMK had been seized in Waw and Thatone of Mon State. They also claimed that related traffickers had been caught in the Yangon Region. 
  • The signing ceremony of MoU between Myanmar and India for the supply of lab equipment and apparatus to the Naypyitaw State Academy was organized. 
  • The military junta stated that narcotics worth over 2000 lakh MMK had been seized in Thingangyun Township and Kamayut Township of  Yangon Region.
