The National Unity Government (NUG)
- In Phyuu Township of Bago Region, there was an attack on the junta’s gate near Zayyawaddy Sugar Refinery. According to the People’s Defence Force, a junta sergeant died and some weapons were confiscated.
- In Pauk Township of Magway Region, a troop contingent from No. (24) Defence Equipment Factory has been invading the area, with the support of fighter jets. Reportedly, nearly 5,000 residents from 6 local villages have had to flee.
- In Hommalin Township of Sagaing Region, the PDFs under No. (1) Regional Command-NUG provided assistance, along with healthcare, to the displaced people.
- Ministry of Social, Labour and Humanitarian Affairs-NUG announced that an earthquake with Richter Scale 5 had hit near Kyunghla in Sagaing Region.
- Myanmar’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations U Kyaw Moe Tun stated that the junta’s sham elections and pre-planned results would prolong Myanmar’s crisis and violence.
Revolution Activities
- The junta leader Senior General Min Aung Hlaing was awarded an honourary doctorate by Yangon University. Regarding it, Yangon University- Interim University Council, Yangon University Teachers’ Association and Yangon University Students’ Union expressed strong condemnation.
- In Saw Township of Magway Region, the junta army conducted an aerial bombing on Mi-E Village. Reportedly, 5 women lost their lives and 42 houses were damaged.
- As the situation related to Myanmar continues to threaten the national security and foreign policy of the United States, President Donald Trump extended one more year for their declaration of a national state of emergency.
- In Moemait of Northern Shan State, the PDFs carried out a drone attack on the junta’s warehouse of weapons.
- In Longlone Township of Tanintharyi Region, there was a drone attack on the junta’s Military Security Office during their military training.
- In Gantgaw Township of Magway Region, 2 Pyusawti members under the military junta were caught on their way to gather information about the revolutionary forces.
- In Daegu of South Korea, Myanmar people protested against the military coup.
- In Yinmabin Township of Sagaing Region, a local rally led an anti-junta march.
Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)
- The opening ceremony for the 79th Shan State Day, which falls on February 7, was held at the headquarters of Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS) on Friday morning.
- Karenni Nationalities Defence Force called not to use the road of Fruso-Tale-Nanpe-Bawlake due to ongoing fighting.
- For the town Theinni, its name Theinni was used during the Operation 1027 and after Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army seized control of it. Reportedly, Mupan, an ancient Chinese name, is being reused.
- In Phasaung Township of Karenni State, the junta army conducted an aerial bombing on Mawchi Area. According to the Secretary General of Interim Executive Council, an elderly woman aged 74 lost her life, 2 other people were injured and 5 houses were damaged.
The Military Commission
- In the junta’s 2025 election, the Union Solidarity and Development Party won 537 seats for three parliaments through FPTP. It is being accused of winning in most constituencies with advance voting, a similar method they had adopted to win in the 2010 election.
- The military junta announced that the Chair, the Vice-Chair (1) and the Secretary of Yangon Regional Gold Traders’ Association had been detained and legal action would be taken against them.
- On Friday morning, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing opened the Myanmar-Korea Friendship (Dala) Bridge, built across Yangon River, in Yangon Region.
- The junta’s Prime Minister Nyo Saw and top leaders of the USDP, winner of the junta’s election, attended Chinese new-year celebrations.
- According to the junta’s Minister for Education Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein, Yangon University awarded the Honorary Doctor of Public Administration to the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing for his demonstrated abilities to take the lead in addressing the challenges and difficulties encountered amid the political transition of the country and to manage them systematically and effectively.
- The Chair of the junta’s Central Bank said that cash withdrawal is being controlled so that the money does not flow to the monopolized trade of gold and dollar.
- The junta’s Chief of Justice said that the government had been combating narcotic drugs and online scams as a national duty and thus, courts are required to reach effective and preventive verdicts in accordance with the law.
