Fifteen Myanmar people, including a six-year-old boy and a four-month old baby, were injured when a speeding passenger van overturned on Phetkasem road in Ratchaburi's Pak Tho district on March 20, police said.

Pol Sub Lt Sutthipan Samkhumpim, a duty officer at Pak Tho police station, said the driver, Malukan Samoh, lost control of the van after its back tyre burst. The vehicle then overturned and plunged into a ditch.

Pol Sub Lt Sutthipan said the van was travelling from Narathiwat to Tak's Mae Sot district with 15 Myanmar migrants who hid in Thailand after being expelled from Malaysia. They were to be sent back to Myanmar.

All passengers were sent to Pak Tho hospital.

Mr Malukan, a Narathiwat resident, was slightly injured in the accident.

The driver told police that he was travelling with another passenger van carrying another group of 15 Myanmar people who were led by the immigration police.
