Spring Revolution Daily News for 25 February 2026

The National Unity Government (NUG) 

  • In Chauk Township of Magway Region, the revolutionary forces attacked the junta army invading the area and stealing public’s belongings. According to Magway District Battalion (1), no fewer than 4 junta soldiers died. 
  • In Magway Region, Pakkoku District Battalion (6), which is also the Myaing Villages Revolution Front, completed a short training on collective exercise. 
  • In Salin Township of Magway Region, People’s Defence Force helped a pregnant woman with the delivery of her baby at home. 
  • Ministry of Human Rights-NUG stated that they have had a financial policy in place and follow the guidelines since their establishment, and the Union Auditor General Office just inspected them and they received positive remarks. 
  • Dho Khit Team stated that they would continue to provide support selflessly to the forces under the Ministry of Defence-NUG as the NUG had been doing for the case investigations in accordance with public’s desire. 

Revolution Activities 

  • The election of a new Executive Committee for Overseas Karen Refugees Social Organization (OKRSO), based in Bangkok of Thailand for over 30 years, was conducted on Sunday. 
  • In Myinmu Township of Sagaing Region, the junta army conducted an aerial bombing via paramotors on Shwe Kyaungkan Village. Reportedly, 9 people including 2 children aged 5 lost their lives. 
  • In Mingaladone Township of Yangon Region, there was a mine attack on a junta police car on mobile patrol. Reportedly, 3 junta policemen might have been injured in the incident. 
  • Justice for Myanmar called on foreign governments to immediately set new sanctions on the companies involved in jet fuel imports to Myanmar’s military junta and to make careful prohibition’s regarding the import of jet fuel to Myanmar. 
  • In Mawlight Township of Sagaing Region, a conscripted soldier from Yangon Region, along with weapons, defected to Mawlight Revolution Force. 
  • The Embassy of Finland in Yangon will officially close at the end of February. 
  • At the 61st session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva of Switzerland, the Foreign Minister of Indonesia pledged that they would work for peace in Myanmar. 

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs) 

  • In Kutkhine Township of Northern Shan State, there has been tension again between Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army and Ta’ang National Liberation Army. Reportedly, the trade flow in the area has been blocked. 
  • There has been tension between the TNLA and the MNDAA for more than a week. Regarding it, Ta’ang Civil Society Network called on them not to conduct attacks targeting the public. 
  • In Chin State, the junta army has been invading to regain the areas seized by the Chinland Council and Chin Brotherhood. In Tunzan Township, the local council announced that young people would be recruited. 
  • In Thayetchaung Township of Tanintharyi Region, the junta army conducted an airstrike via fighter jet on Sonesinphya Village. According to Karen National Union (Myeik-Dawei), a person lost their life. 

The Military Commission 

  • The junta’s National Defence and Security Council announced on Monday that the third section of the Hluttaw (Parliament) after their election would be held in Naypyidaw starting from March. 
  • In Lechar Township of Southern Shan State, Chinese nationals, along with equipment for scam centre fraud, were arrested. 
  • Due to the instruction of the junta’s Central Bank, banks have limited the amount of cash withdrawal. Consequently, there has been scarcity of cash in the market and payments via digital pay services have not been accepted in some cases of trade. 
  • The junta’s Minister for Immigration and Population said that it is necessary to conduct maritime immigration inspection on international ships in accordance with the laws and procedures. 
  • The junta’s Minister for Finance and Planning claimed that the increase of deposits, key financial resource of banks, is important and those deposits are loaned to business people. He added that the decline in deposits would impact bank loans. 
  • The military junta announced that flight services at Myitkyina Airport had been suspended as the apron was damaged during an attack on a passenger aircraft. 
  • In states and regions, illegal goods, including timber, consumer goods, electronics and license-less vehicles, worth over 1,700 lakh MMK were confiscated.
