At least 209 military operations and attacks targeting civilians were recorded across Myanmar in a single week in February, according to a new report by Nyan Lynn Thit Analytica (NLTA).

The monitoring group said that between 13 and 19 February 2026, it documented 76 armed clashes and 133 incidents targeting civilians across dozens of townships nationwide. The report also saw a rise in civilian casualties and arrests.

Sagaing Region recorded the highest number of armed incidents, with 11 clashes reported during the week. Combat engagements accounted for the majority of clashes.

Resistance forces reportedly seized two junta outposts and one police station in Kachin and Chin States and Tanintharyi Region. Junta troops recaptured positions in Chin State and Mandalay Region in separate incidents.

Civilian-targeted attacks rose compared with the previous week, the report said. At least 38 civilians were killed and 88 injured during the reporting period, while 102 people were arbitrarily arrested.

Magway Region recorded 11 civilian deaths and 22 injuries, while Rakhine State saw 15 deaths and 13 injuries, making it the deadliest region for civilians during the week. Kachin State recorded three civilian deaths and 20 injuries.

Village raids by junta troops were the most frequent form of civilian-targeted attack, with 32 incidents reported in 14 townships. Mandalay Region recorded the highest number of such raids, followed by Sagaing Region. In one case on 15 February, an estimated 100 soldiers from Infantry Battalion 258 raided a village in Yesagyo Township, Magway Region, killing one woman and injuring three others during artillery shelling.

Airstrikes also continued. NLTA documented 26 aerial attacks across 17 townships, killing 14 civilians and injuring 29. On 17 February, a YAK-130 attack jet bombed a dispensary in Khin-U Township, Sagaing, killing three civilians and injuring eight others.

NLTA said its data was compiled from 43 media outlets and announcements by resistance groups. The group noted that actual figures on the ground may be higher.

Myanmar has been gripped by escalating conflict since the military seized power in 2021, with civilians increasingly bearing the brunt of the fighting.
