Mizzima awarded global JTI certificate for reliable news on Myanmar

Myanmar-China border trade is no a-Muse-ment

The China-Myanmar border trade point in Muse netted US$189 million in bilateral trade in February.

A spokesperson from the Department of Border Trade said, “In February, at the Muse border trade zone, a figure of US$188.69 million in total was accounted: the export amount was $86.4 million and the import amount was $102.2 million.”

Trade across the Muse border is mainly rice, fishery products, forestry products, metal mineral products, maize, grain, peanuts, rubber, animal products and industrial finishing products.

Han Sein, chairman of the Muse-Nan Kan Trader Association said, “We have been importing various products: both commercial-use products and consumer products.”

Products such as vehicle parts, engines, televisions, construction materials and food products are regularly imported from China.
