Mizzima awarded global JTI certificate for reliable news on Myanmar

5.5 quake hits Monywa

An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale jolted Sagaing Division on Saturday night, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS).

The tremor occurred at 11:11 pm at a depth of 126.6 km, the USGS said. The epicenter was determined to be 32 km NW of Monywa, 60 km W of Shwebo.

No injuries or deaths have been reported.
