(Mizzima) – Burmese President Thein Sein met with a Communist Party of China (CPC) delegation led by Wang Gang here on Monday. Wang is a Politburo Member of the CPC Central Committee and vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People' s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
Wang also met the Secretary General of the ruling Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP), Htay Oo, vowing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two parties to push the two countries' comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership.
The CPC delegation arrived in Naypyitaw on Sunday at the invitation of the USDP as the first leg of a four-country tour. The delegation will proceed to Namibia, Jordan and Ireland after visiting Burma.
