The All Nippon Airways Co. (ANA)  on Monday resumed direct flights between Japan and Burma after 12 years without service.

ANA will operate three weekly round-trip flights between Tokyo' s Narita airport and Yangon International Airport with the Boeing 737-700ER aircraft.

The carrier suspended flights to Burma in 2000 due to political instability in Burma, the Kyodo News reported.
