Spring Revolution Daily News for 6 March 2026

The National Unity Government (NUG) 

  • According to Ministry of Education-NUG, the assessment of basic education completion for 2026 will be conducted in May and the registration for subjects can be made from March 10 to April 11. 
  • In Sagaing Region, Kantbalu Township People’s Administration stated that ring roads had to be constructed in the area for public safety and upon the collective request of local people. 
  • In Tanintharyi Township of Tanintharyi Region, there were local battles for 8 days between the junta army stationed in Tamoatchone Village and the People’s Defence Force. According to Kyungsu PDF, 10 junta soldiers died. 
  • On Thursday, the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration conducted a meeting (8/2026). 

Revolution Activities 

  • In Myingyan Township of Mandalay Region, the junta army stationing in Nabu-I Village carried out a drone attack, killing 4 people including 2 displaced elderly women, a mother and her child. 
  • In Mandalay, gas stations have been selling fuel oil with limits per vehicle. Reportedly, long lines of vehicles could be seen on Thursday morning. 
  • In Yetashay Township of Bago Region, 500 junta soldiers, invading Koebin Thagara on the western bank of Sittaung River, arrested and killed 5 civilians and a comrade of the revolutionary force. 
  • The junta’s spokesperson Major General Zaw Min Tun claimed that there was sufficient fuel oil for 40 days and oil tankers were on their way. However, some of the gas stations have faced shortages due to the rush to buy fuel. 
  • According to the People’s Goal, basic sewing training Batch (2) was opened for the CDM staff and their families in Mizoram State of India on February 9. 
  • In Monywa Township of Sagaing Region, there was a mine attack on a combined force of the junta army and Pyusawti Militia on Monywa-ChaungU Road on their way to demand money and clear mines. Reportedly, a junta soldier died. 
  • In Tilin Township of Magway Region, there was a guerrilla attack on a junta troop of about 80 junta soldiers on their way out of Ponna Village. 
  • In Myingyan Township of Mandalay Region, the junta army stationing in Nabu-I Village conducted a drone attack on the local monastery. Reportedly, 4 people, including a child aged 7, lost their lives. 
  • At the Australian Parliament, the Chin Human Rights Organization (CHRO) gave testimony that the junta’s election was not legitimate. They also called for help to stop the junta’s aerial attacks. 

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs) 

  • According to Karen National Union (Myeik-Dawei District), the Kawthoolei Army (KTLA) conducted an ambush on the Battalion (12) of Karen National Liberation Army Brigade (4). Reportedly, 5 KNLA members were injured. 
  • In Ledo Township under the control of the KNU, the junta army fired heavy weapons deliberately at a local school. Reportedly, 2 civilians were injured. 
  • In Mese of Karenni State, the junta army conducted an aerial bombing on a detention camp of war prisoners on Thursday morning. According to Interim Executive Council (IEC), 5 family members of detainees, including a child aged 8, lost their lives. 
  • The United Wa State Army announced that security measures would be tightened along the border until March 15 due to an ongoing emergency meeting in China. 

The Military Commission 

  • On Wednesday, the junta propaganda leader claimed that there was no reason to face shortage as Myanmar had enough fuel oil in reserve for 40 days plus more orders for purchase. 
  • On Wednesday, the junta’s Ministry of Energy stated that Myanmar imports fuel oil via maritime routes mainly from Singapore and Malaysia, not from Thailand, and thus, there was no need to be concerned. 
  • According to the junta’s Ministry of Energy, fuel oil would be supplied through 8 tankers; 2 ships at Thilawa Port and 6 others on the way. 
  • In Myanmar, the Equipment Identity-IMEI of each mobile phone must be registered at Central Equipment Identity Register-CEIR by March 31. 
  • The Foreign Minister of India stated that India supports the peace process led and owned by Myanmar for sustainable peace and development of Myanmar. 
  • At Naypyidaw 1,000-bed Hospital, the junta’s Minister for Health Dr, Thet Khine Win encouraged the patients who had undergone operations for a kidney transplant. 
  • In Mingala Taung Nyunt Township of Yangon Region, Prime Minister Nyo Saw attended the inauguration ceremony of Sarso Beikman, (Literati Building) of the Department of Printing and Publishing under the Ministry of Information, constructed with the support of the Indian government. 
  • To meet more demand for urban water supply, Naypyidaw Municipal Committee will distribute 6 million gallons per day starting from April 1. 
  • The junta’s Health Minister said that it was necessary to prepare for sufficient pharmaceutical drugs and equipment as the parliaments were about to convene.
