The National Unity Government (NUG)

-The second conference of Sagaing Area Strike Groups stated that an interim government had emerged in Sagaing Federal Unit and that they would constantly urge the interim government to serve the public’s best interests.

-In the second week of February, Ministry of Human Rights-NUG provided training on military ethics and legal trainers to the focal persons of human rights from 25 townships.

-In Magway Region, the People’s Defence Force attacked the junta army stationing at Nady Shwe Wah Gate in the north of Natmauk on Monday.

-Ministry of Social, Labour and Humanitarian Affairs-NUG stated that an earthquake with Richter Scale 4.4 had hit near Naypyidaw Pyinmanar on Monday.

-In Ayadaw Township of Sagaing Region, the junta army conducted an aerial bombing. Reportedly, 5 PDF members including 3 women comrades lost their lives.

Revolution Activities

-In Chaung-U Township of Sagaing Region, there was an attack on junta troops stationed in Shan Htoo Village. According to the Bamar Liberation Democratic Front, a junta policeman was caught alive, along with some fatalities among the junta members.

-In Myinmu Township of Sagaing Region, there was an attack on the junta army on Monywa-Mandalay Road. Reportedly, 8 junta soldiers including a captain died and a gun was confiscated.

-According to Justice for Myanmar, Synpex Shwe, a Myanmar weapons dealer company which had imported parts of helicopters and planes for the military junta after the coup, is involved in global arms trade.

-In Meiktila Township, Thazi Township and Pyawbwe Township of Mandalay Region, about 120 people have been recruited for the junta army in the first quarter of 2026.

-In Myaung Township of Sagaing Region, 5 local people lost their lives in the junta’s airstrike on Thaunggyi Village.

-According to the Women’s Organization of Political Prisoners (WOPP) on Monday, women political prisoners in Shwebo Prison have had to face severe human rights violations by the junta’s prison staff.

-In Seik Phyu Township of Magway Region, there was an attack on junta troops on patrol. Reportedly, no fewer than 6 junta members died.

-The Political Prisoners’ Network Myanmar announced that Blue Shirt Campaign would be conducted on April 21 in memory of the 12th year of the passing of former journalist U Win Tin, for the liberation of all the political prisoners in detention.

-The Assistance Association for Political Prisoners announced that 7,941 people had lost their lives due to the military junta from February 2021 to March 23 2026.

-In Longlone Township of Tanintharyi Region, Dawei Democratic Movement Strike Committee protested against the military dictatorship.

-In Sagaing Region, the revolution forces conducted a guerrilla attack on the junta groups on their way out from Mone Yway Tollbooth to Tawpu Village of Pyusawti Militia to play football on Sunday afternoon. According to Brave Heart Army, 3 junta members died and 8 others were injured.

-In Myaing Township of Magway Region, the revolution forces attacked the junta’s Pyusawti Militia on mobile patrol from Kanni Village. Reportedly, 3 junta members died and 2 others were injured.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

-In Northern Shan State, Kutkhine seized by Ta’ang National Liberation Army was handed to the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army on March 16. Reportedly, the MNDAA met with local people on March 22 and 23, and told them that severe action would be taken against the violations of their rules.

-In Ledo Township (Kyaukgyi Township) of Bago Region, 2 junta outposts have been seized and 41 conscripted soldiers have defected to the revolution forces, according to Karen National Union (Central).

-The Chair of the Interim Chin National Consultative Council/ Chin Brotherhood stated that after combating the junta army, the main enemy in Chin State, they had plans to unite all Chin armed forces and build unity.

The Military Commission

-The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing underwent back surgery for nerve compression caused by lumbar spondylosis and spinal stenosis.

-At Pyithu Hluttaw, former General Maung Maung Ohn and former Brigadier General Than Tun Oo were appointed to be the chairs of 2 standing committees; the Hluttaw Rights Committee and the Committee on Reviewing the Government’s Guarantees, Pledges and Accountabilities.

-Former Brigadier General Tayza Kyaw was appointed to be the Chair of the Public Accounts Committee.

-The junta’s Mandalay Regional Government has been arranging for a grand celebration of Thingyan Festival despite the domestic fuel crisis due to ongoing conflicts in the Middle East.

-The Billing Committee of Amyotha Hluttaw will be formed with 15 members. It will tentatively be chaired by Daw Nwe Oo Oo with Secretary U Zin Min Htet.

-According to the junta’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, Thameehla Kyun Wildlife Sanctuary in Ngaputaw Township of Ayeyarwady Region was designated to be the Thameehla Kyun Marime National Park.

-The junta propaganda media claimed that owner and staff of Min Thant Filling Station (1) had been charged over illegal sale of fuel in Hpaout Village of Mawlamyein Township.
