The National Unity Government (NUG)
- During the 11th meeting of Magway Federal Unit Hluttaw on Thursday, 7 Ministers for the Interim Government of Magway Federal Unit and Attorney General were appointed. However, approval for two ministries could not be made yet due to objections.
- Bo Let Yar, the focal person of Pakkoku District People’s Defence Force and Myaing Township People’s Defence Force, was appointed to be the Minister of Defence for the Interim Government of Magway Federal Unit Hluttaw.
- In No. (1) Operation Area under Ministry of Defence-NUG, Special Military Command completed their basic military training.
- Dr. Soe Thura Zaw, the Deputy Chief Officer of the PDF Military Headquarters, stated that the Spring Revolution had to go through corruption inside the revolution, in addition to external enemies. He added that a mechanism was being set up to control both.
- The NUG will conduct a press conference regarding the junta’s massacre of civilians in Nyaunglebin Township.
- In Nyaunglebin District of Bago Region, the revolution forces managed to rescue over 300 civilians arrested by the junta army. Reportedly, the PDFs have provided healthcare to those people.
- In Minbu (Saku) Township of Magway Region, Minbu District Battalion (6) announced that they had not made a collection or not threatened any business people for money.
Revolution Activities
- The junta army has carried out aerial attacks on the areas of revolutionary forces and civilians in Tanintharyi Region. Reportedly, there was a drone attack on the junta’s Myeik Air Force Headquarters.
- According to Political Prisoners’ Network Myanmar, a political prisoner was beaten for reporting the difficulties of inmates to the International Committee of the Red Cross. Reportedly, he has not received medical treatment.
- In Taungoo of Bago Region, there was an attack using 18 rockets on the junta’s Ketumady Air Force, according to Brave Warriors for Myanmar.
- The UN expert on Myanmar warned that the deteriorating situation of human rights and humanitarian crises in Myanmar could worsen at the time of declining assistance amidst international attention on the war in the Middle East.
- In Rakhine State, Kissapanady Bridge, connecting Kyauktaw and Mrauk-U Township, was bombed.
- In the latest investigative report by Fortify Rights, Rohingya refugees are currently detained indefinitely in inhumane and degrading conditions at the Immigration Detention Centres in Malaysia.
- According to the Institute for Strategy and Policy Myanmar, the release of political prisoners accounted for only 25% of the junta’s 20 amnesty grants over the military coup period of five years.
- In Mandalay Region, there was a mine attack on a truck on its way to support the junta troops invading Kyaukbadaung-Poppa Area. Reportedly, about 10 junta soldiers died.
- In Mon State, an alliance of Mon-Tanintharyi Brotherhood Drone Forces conducted drone attacks on the junta troops near Aung Thabyay Village in Ye Township, the junta’s Tinshu Police Station in Than Phyu Zayat Township and the junta army near Kaninkamaw Village.
Revolution Activities
- In Hpapun District under Karen National Union Brigade (5), the junta army carried out aerial attacks on no fewer than 4 local villages. Reportedly, 2 civilians lost their lives and 18 others were injured.
- The spokesperson of Mon Revolution Forum stated that Mon revolution forces would continue to protest in various ways against the attempt to bring life to the 2008 Constitution and they had set the consensus for the establishment of a new Constitution for Federal Union.
- Arakan Army provided basic military training Batch (1) to the Spring Revolution Alliance. Reportedly, the completion event was held in a liberated area.
The Military Commission
- The military junta officially commissioned 4 fighter jets, including two from Russia, for the junta’s Air force at Meiktila Airbase.
- At the time of nationwide bombardments almost on a daily basis, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that aerospace power plays a significant role for national interest and war victory.
- The junta leader claimed that the nation needs hardworking individuals, not those seeking advantages and positions.
- According to the referenced prices for fuel oil, the cost for a litre of petrol has increased by 305MMK and a litre of diesel by nearly 600MMK.
- The junta propaganda media claimed that the junta troops had regained control over Dagaung Town, seized temporarily by the PDFs. Reportedly, they have been carrying out mine clearance and rehabilitation activities.
- The junta’s Prime Minister Nyo Saw said that the MSMEs had been gaining success and their economic growth had been improving annually.
