Spring Revolution Daily News for 6 February 2026

The National Unity Government (NUG) 

  • The NUG honoured Kachin Independence Organization/ Kachin Independence Army for their leading involvement in the ongoing Spring Revolution
  • The NUG stated that along with the alliance of Kachin revolution forces, they would fight until the end to uproot the military dictatorship and to build a federal democratic union
  • The NUG stated that they would pursue the goal of a true federal democracy in Myanmar together with Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw
  • There was a meeting between the NUG and Sagaing Federal Unit to delegate tasks. Reportedly, Sagaing Federal Unit Hluttaw presented about 6 political procedures for Sagaing Federal Unit. 
  • The CRPH sent a statement to the 65th anniversary of Kachin Revolution Day, wishing them to help build a federal democratic union while fighting the common enemy, along with revolution forces, coupled with experiences and insights gained over the period of 65 years. 
  • Ministry of Social, Labour and Humanitarian Affairs-NUG stated that an earthquake with Richter Scale 4.2 had hit near Oattwin of Bago Region at 2:08 am Thursday. 

Revolution Activities 

  • In the northern part of Taze Township in Sagaing Region, the junta army conducted an aerial bombing on the local monastery in Thitseigone Village on Thursday morning. Reportedly, 6 people, including 4 novices, lost their lives. 
  • On February 2, National Alliance of People’s Movements (NAPM), which comprises activists in India, stated that they stand with the people’s resistance against the military coup in Myanmar
  • According to the People’s Goal, 5 junta soldiers, police and militia members defected to them and a prisoner of war was caught in the last week of January in 2026. 
  • Burma Research Institute based in the United States stated that there were just 8 months left to implement the assistance worth 121 million USD for Myanmar, which was included in the U.S government budget bill signed by President Donald Trump
  • The United Nations stated that over 40 countries including Myanmar and the US were liable to pay tax to the UN. 
  • In Upper Minhla Township of Magway Region, there were attacks at a police station and a junta convoy. Reportedly, there were casualties among 20 junta soldiers. 

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs) 

  • The Alliance of the Three Brotherhood; the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army and the Arakan Army, sent a statement on the anniversary of Kachin Revolution Day. They stated that their peer Kachin revolution forces still had been involved in ongoing revolution. They also wished for breakthrough success of Kachin revolution. 
  • The AA published the claim of Naing Khant Kyaw, a junta’s conscripted soldier, saying that the military junta had been lying to conscripted soldiers about their success in Rakhine battlefields so that they do not flee. 
  • The CRPH, the NUG and Chin National Front sent separate statements to Kachin Revolution Day. They all mentioned that it is necessary to fight the common enemy to end the military dictatorship and to build a federal democratic union. 
  • The Chair of the KIO stated that they, in cooperation with Spring Revolution forces, had been working systematically to achieve more military and political victory while fighting the military junta. 

The Military Commission 

  • On February 3, the junta’s Union Election Commission announced that political parties had gained 405 seats through Proportional representation in the junta’s 2025 election. 
  • Indian authorities transferred back 27 Myanmar nationals to the military junta. Reportedly, those people had been detained in Imphal prison of Manipur State in India for having crossed the border area illegally. 
  • The UEC instructed the candidates, who had contested the third phase of the election, to submit their expenses within the specified time. 
  • The junta’s Construction Sector Development Law was enacted on Tuesday. Accordingly, the Central Committee on Construction Sector Development must be set up. 
  • According to the junta’s Ministry of Electricity, the LNG power stations will distribute electricity to industrial zones and businesses in Mandalay Region.
