The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • Myanmar’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations U Kyaw Moe Tun went to the University of Chicago and the Northern Illinois University, and discussed the current situation of Myanmar’s politics and the human rights violations.
  • In Badigone Township of Bago Region, there was an attack on the junta camp in Bupyaw Village. According to Paungty Township People’s Defence Force, 2 junta members died.
  • In Dibeyin Township of Sagaing Region, the junta army conducted an aerial bombing on Boattatan Village. Reportedly, a man aged 37 lost his life and over 20 houses were damaged.
  • In honour of Comrade Pho Nyo Ei who had sacrificed his life in the fight against the junta army, Yinmabin District Battalion (17) provided a certificate of honour and financial support to his family.

Revolution Activities

  • In Salingyi Township of Sagaing Region, the junta army conducted an airstrike via gyrocopter on a camp of the PDF. Reportedly, 11 comrades lost their lives.
  • In Shwe Pyi Thar Township of Yangon Region, 2 urban guerrilla forces carried out a grenade attack on the security outpost of No. (6) Police Force at 8:30 pm Thursday.
  • On the 111th birthday of General Aung San and Myanmar Children’s Day which falls on February 13, his grandson Kim Aris (alias) Ko Htein Linn expressed concern about the current situation that Myanmar children have to face. He also said that he hopes to regain the sword of his grandfather as an inheritance.
  • In memory of Dr. Sein Win, former Prime Minister of National Coalition Government of the Union of Burma, his family conducted an alms donation at Mingala Yarma Monastery in Maryland State, USA on Thursday.
  • In Falam Township of Chin State, the junta army has had a great loss in the face of suicidal drone attacks.
  • Blood Money Campaign sent a statement to the 5th anniversary of Progressive Muslim Youth Association.
  • In Shwebo Township of Sagaing Region, there were educational talks on preventive measures against aerial assaults in 2 local villages.
  • According to Myanmar Defense & Security institute-MDSI, there were 109 airstrikes by the junta army all over the country in January, killing 127 civilians and leaving 241 others injured.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

  • In Chin State, there was an attack on a convoy of the junta police on their way back from the event of the Union Day in Hakha. According to local CDF, 3 policemen died and 5 others were injured.
  • According to Reuters, the Chair of Restoration Council of Shan State/ Shan State Army said that civilians had faced hardships due to the junta’s airstrikes and China had been interfering in the conflict.
  • In Rakhine State, 7 civilians lost their lives and 16 others were injured in the junta’s airstrikes on Kyauktaw and Mrauk-U, according to the Arakan Army.
  • On the Union Day, Ramyana Mon Army completed their basic military training Batch (6).
  • In Southern Shan State, 2 conscripted soldiers from the junta’s Ka-Ma-Ya (112) based in Kalaw Township defected to Danu State National Defence Army.

The Military Commission

  • In Kachin State, there was an attack via FPV suicidal drones at Myitkyina Airport on Thursday.
  • The junta police claimed that those involved in a plan to sell a woman in debt as a wife of Chinese man, had been imprisoned.
  • The Labour Diplomat Office in Bangkok stated that Certificate of Identification (CI) centres would be opened on February 17 for Myanmar migrant workers with a Work Permit from the Thai government.
  • In Pathein Township of Ayeyarwady Region, the junta’s Chief Minister inspected the preparations to celebrate the 64th Farmers’ Day in Mayan Chaung Village.
  • U Myo Min Tun, ChargĂ© d’Affaires and Ambassador to the junta’s Military AttachĂ©’s Office in the United States, paid respect to the monks involved in the Walk for Peace.
  • The military junta stated that Kanti Public Hospital is being renovated in Sagaing Region.
