-Myanmar’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations U Kyaw Moe Tun confirmed that the NUG has been paying the membership fee to the UN and Myanmar will remain eligible to vote at the UN General Assembly until the end of 2026.
-A meeting of resistance commanders was conducted for five days. Reportedly, it was joined by all the responsible personnel from Regional Commands and Regiments all over the country. According to the Second Commander in Chief of the People’s Defence Force Headquarters, it is clearly visible that all the commanders have the revolution goodwill to bring the best to the PDFs.
-In Saw Township of Magway Region, the junta army has conducted aerial attacks on non-military targets; Mi-E Village and local people, according to the Ministry of Human Rights-NUG.
-Ministry of Social, Labour and Humanitarian Affairs-NUG stated that the weather would be fine at the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal within the week, temperatures would continue to decrease and it would be foggy all over the country.
Revolution Activities
-General Strike Cooperation Committee, which emerged along with Spring Revolution, apologized to the public for their shortcomings along the rough journey of the revolution. They added that they would not accept any means to negotiate with the military junta.
-In Nyaung-U Township of Mandalay Region, 2 junta members were shot near the junta’s Ngathayauk Police Station on their way out for shopping.
-The National League for Democracy honoured Dr. Sein Win, former Prime Minister of the National Coalition Government of the Union of Burma (NCGUB), as a historic figure who had tried his best throughout his life for democracy and human rights.
-In early February, 7 conscripted soldiers from the military junta contacted and defected to the People’s Embrace under the NUG.
-Burmese Women Union stated that 55 women had lost their lives in January 2026 due to the junta’s attacks via air and on the ground.
-In Minkin Township of Sagaing Region, there was an attack on the junta army stationing in Kan Village. According to Students Revolutionary Force, there were casualties among the junta soldiers.
-In Salingyi Township, Yezagyo Township and Myaing Township, a local strike committee named Shwe Bantgyi distributed leaflets against the junta’s propaganda to the public.
-In Chaung-U Township of Sagaing Region, there was a guerrilla attack on a junta troop contingent. The Phoenix Army stated that 20 junta soldiers had died.
Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)
-In Kyauk Phyu Township of Rakhine State, there has been heavy fighting due to offensives from the Arakan Army on Danyawaddy Navy base and the military junta has had to send a large number of forces.
-In Machanbaw Township of Kachin State, the junta soldiers withdrew from some security outposts of the junta’s Ka-La-Ya (137). Reportedly, illicit drugs were found during the clearance operation by Kachin Independence Army and the PDF.
-Chinland Government Defence Ministry announced that over 200 junta soldiers including 9 officers had died in local battles for four months in Falam Township of Chin State.
-The Arakan Army rewarded 300 lakh MMK to 4 students who had discovered ancient jewels and silver coins from the ground in Mrauk-U of Rakhine State and handed them over.
-The Military Chief of Karenni Nationalities Defence Force stated that they had been trying for the unification of all revolutionary elements under a single “United Karenni State Army”.
-CDF Hakha warned the public not to go to the forests near Hakha.
-In Thandaung Township under Karen National Union Taungoo District, the junta army fired heavy artillery, killing a woman.
The Military Commission
-The military junta did not grant a visa to a Singaporean artist, DJ Wukong, to Invasion Music festival held in Thingangyun Township of Yangon Region. Reportedly, they also arrested the event organizers.
-As of December 2025, 53 countries and territories have had investments in Myanmar, with the largest investments from Singapore, China and Thailand.
-The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing attended the opening ceremony of the Union-level MSME Products Exhibition and Market Fair to mark the 79th Anniversary of Union Day.
-The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing hosted a dinner in honour of Myanmar delegation who attended the Oral Hearings at the International Court of Justice (ICJ). He said that although the ICJ case was a major challenge for Myanmar, valuable benefits were gained through the challenge.
-The junta propaganda team claimed that the junta army had regained full control over Banmauk Town, seized by the KIA and the PDF, in Sagaing Region.
