-In Pauk Township of Magway Region, the junta troops have been invading the area to send rations to the villages of Pyusawti Militia. According to Local Humanitarian and Disaster Risks Management Department-NUG, more than 10,000 local people have had to run away.
-The Special Regional Command Strategic Force (33) sent a statement of salute and condolences that Nagar, commander of Dawei District People’s Defence Force (1), had sacrificed his life in the fight against the military junta.
-In Pale Township of Sagaing Region, the Burma National Revolutionary Army (BNRA) led by Bo Nagar raided a gate of the NUG. Reportedly, they arrested a member of the People’s Security Group and took away weapons along with the tax money collected. Regarding the incident, Deputy Minister for Home Affairs and Immigration-NUG stated that it was a terrible act.
-At 10:00 am Saturday, the representatives of Sagaing Federal Unit Hluttaw conducted a regular meeting (1/2026) via video conferencing.
-Ministry of Social, Labour and Humanitarian Affairs-NUG stated that an earthquake with Richter Scale 4 had hit near Mai Pan of Southern Shan State at 00:51 am Sunday.
Revolution Activities
-In Ayadaw Township of Sagaing Region, the junta army conducted an aerial bombing on the nursery school in Kanyin Village on Saturday afternoon. Reportedly, a child and a villager lost their lives, and 3 other people were injured.
-In Chaung-U of Sagaing Region, there were attacks via drone and 60mm grenades on the junta’s polling stations and their forces in town.
-In Sagaing Township of Sagaing Region, there was a mine attack on a junta convoy on their way to inspect Kantalu Tollbooth.
-On Friday, the Independent Press Council Myanmar stated that 27 media professionals are still in arbitrary detention all over the country and 7 others had lost their lives due to the brutal treatment of the military junta over the coup period of five years.
-In Kawlin Township of Sagaing Region, 10 members of the revolutionary forces lost their lives in local battles and 2 local people were killed by the junta army.
Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)
-According to Home Affairs Department of Interim Executive Council, about 80 detainees and prisoners of war escaped from the prison in Mese Township, Karenni State.
-In Yay Township of Mon State, Mon State Revolutionary Force and Yay PDF carried out a guerrilla attack on the junta army near Aung Thabyay Village. Reportedly, there were casualties among the junta soldiers.
-In Thatone Township under the Karen National Union, the junta army stationed in Tettugone Village, broke into public’s houses and ill-treated a local villager.
The Military Commission
-In Kalay, Sagaing Region, the military junta has increased military conscriptions among local youth starting from the second week of January.
-In Kyimyindie Township of Yangon Region, local administrators had to submit letters of explanation to the military junta regarding low voter turnouts.
-The junta’s delegation stated at the International Court of Justice that the Myanmar military’s 2017 area clearance operation and driving away people in Northern Rakhine State was not genocide.
-During the hearing at the ICJ, the junta’s Union Minister U Ko Ko Hlaing claimed that Muslims had been refusing to apply for the National Verification Card due to the pressure of activists and false information.
-Reportedly, 10 young people and 2 supervisors from Rakhine State attended the junta’s Youth Peace Forum in Naypyidaw.
-The junta’s Ministry of Labour recommended that visitors, pilgrims and those who seek medical treatment abroad should apply for a PV Passport (Passport for Visit).
-According to the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar, the President of China stated that China would push for a society of harmony along with other countries, regarding global interests as their own.
