Mizzima awarded global JTI certificate for reliable news on Myanmar

Thai Princess Maha Chakri visits Burma

(Mizzima) - Thailand's Royal Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn is on a three-day visit to Burma at the invitation of the Burmese junta.

During the trip, Princess would look at the Post Cyclone Nargis Recovery Projects in Irrawaddy and Rangoon Divisions. The projects are the Rural Health Centre, the Hospital in Daw Nyein Village, Kadonkani School and Cyclone Shelter as well as the National Blood Centre in Yangon General Hospital, according to a report in Thailand’s National News Bureau website.

Her Royal Highness visited the country’s capital Naypyidaw on Monday and also visited places of interest such as the Uppatasanti Pagoda, Jewelry Museum and the zoo.

In addition, Her Royal Highness met Senior General Than Shwe, the country's military leader and Chairman of the SPDC.

Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will return to Thailand on Wednesday.
