Land business becomes brisk around Dawei SEZ

Real estate agents in Dawei have said that land prices in Tanintharyi Region are soaring due to increased interest following the implementation of the Dawei Special Economic Zone (SEZ).

“The land business is becoming brisk along with the implementation of the SEZ,” said Soe Thein, a Dawei real estate agent.

He said, “In mid-February, lands of 20 feet by 60 feet on Mingalar Road cost 100 million Kyat (US$116,617), while 40 feet by 100 feet lands on Ye Yeik Thar Road cost around 200 million Kyat ($233,235). Five joint lands of 40 feet by 80 feet in the region sold for a total of 140 million Kyat ($163,265).”

He continued, “Currently, a road has been built to connect the No. 8 road for the route to SEZ to Kan Pauk. These roads will become the best roads in that region, so the price of land nearby is increasing.”

Similarly, land in villages such as Ba Wa, Pan Thin Inn, Ya Nge, Wa Zwan Taw, Min Thant are continuing to sell.
