Moss died from fluid on the lungs. He retired from performing in films and theater two years ago due to liver disease, according to close friends.
He won the 2012 award for his role in the movie “Forever Rays of Light”. Just a few days after he received the Academy Award in late December, false rumors spread that Moss had died, and he made a statement to assure the public he had not.
“Comedians each have their own style,” said comedian King Kong on the news of Moss’ demise. “But there was no substitute for Moss.”
Moss was born in Yaythochaung Village in Lemyethna Township in the Ayeyarwady [Irrawaddy] Region. In his early years, he formed a traditional dance troupe along with another comedian, Moedi.
Moss was best known for his acting roles in Myint Kyaw’s “So Ashamed”, and “Shwe Yoe with Basket”directed by Sein Than Ma Nee.
